MP of the Unique Serbian list in Kosovo Assembly Rada Trajkovic said to RTK2 that armed forces of Kosovo would represent only a factor of destabilization of the region.

She said that it would affect negatively the whole region, with the ascertainment would agree not only Serbs from Kosovo and Serbia, but Macedonia and Montenegro and other countries of the region.

“Two Albanian armies next to each other, one in Albania and one on the territory of Kosovo, would represent a factor of possible destabilization of the region.”

She says that it is natural that the Serbs are against the Armed forces of Kosovo as they are predominantly Albanian”.

“The political elite in Kosovo alone have no feeling that Serbs in greater number should be represented in political bodies, and especially that members of the Serbian Army, those from the territory of Kosovo, should become tomorrow members of the armed forces through some positive discrimination project”.

Rada Trajković believes that inside NATO there is no agreement about formation of Kosovo’s army.

“Bearing in mind that NATO in some way has built this space, stability is its responsibility. I think that in NATO there is no consensus on forming Armed Forces out of the Kosovo Security Forces and from that point, I think, that the decision of the Government of Kosovo and the Kosovo Security Council is not relevant, except for some internal use. ”

She points out that one of the reasons why NATO is not giving green light to the formation of Armed forces is and participation of some members of the Kosovo Security Forces in conflicts in Syria, Libya and in Al Qaida ranks.

“It is something that burdens NATO. Large number of Albanians from Kosovo goes to fight there. The Government of Kosovo is about to adopt some norms by which it will punish those who are doing so. In such circumstances we know that not a single NATO soldier from Western countries is ready to force such an army with some people in it willing to shoot their backs.”

According to her, the most interesting part will be how Serbian MPs will vote when this issue comes on the agenda of the Assembly of Kosovo.

“When the Kosovo’s supervised independence was abolished, Serbian MPs received promises and support from Thaci and other Albanian leaders they will get guaranteed reserved seats, and we see the promise was not fulfilled. Maybe Thaci will activate similar or the same offer, in order to get two thirds of minority communities’ votes for the army formation,” says Rada Trajković.

The Assembly of Kosovo should consider soon the Law prohibiting the participation of citizens of Kosovo in armed conflicts outside Kosovo. The reason is the growing number of people who go to war in Syria.

Committee on Internal Affairs, Security and Supervision of the Kosovo Security Force, today in principle approved the law, which will forward along with the amendments to the Assembly for consideration.

The Self-Determination MP, and a member of the committee, Rexhep Selimi said that the law should be clarified so as to prevent Participation in Terrorist Groups and the wars that are not related to Kosovo, such as the conflict in Syria, but that the law is not punishable for someone from Kosovo who would armed support fellow Albanians in the region.
