Serbian List (SL) Vice President Igor Simic told RTK2 that SL MPs are still in the Assembly of Kosovo.
According to him, they are exhausted, but they do not give up request to meet with EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn, because it is necessary to convey to him “how dangerous is the decision to block the distribution of Serbian products for the survival of Serbs in Kosovo”.
According to Simic, the Serbian List, unlike Slobodan Petrovic, has proved “numerous times that for SL, the interest of the Serbian people is in the first place”.
“The fact he does not understand our moves, speaks about the difference between our MPs and him, who voted for everything, even for the abolition of supervised independence or the demarcation with Montenegro,” Simic underlined.
Serbian MPs met with the Head of EU Office in Kosovo, Nataliya Apostolova this morning, and on that occasion, they reiterated position they would not abandon the Assembly building until they familiarize personally the Commissioner Hahn with their demands, RTK 2 added.
Slobodan Petrovic, MP in the Kosovo Assembly from Independent Liberal Party (SLS) told News Press yesterday that “the latest action of Serbian List MPs who have locked themselves in the Assembly of Kosovo building is not very clear to him”.
“They seem ready to chase Johannes Hahn through the corridors of the Assembly, to tell him that the increase of taxes is not a good move. Well, Johannes Hahn did not increase the taxes, it was done by the coalition partners of Serbian List. The position of the European Union and Hahn seems familiar to me – that is, the taxes should be abolished. I think it is quite logical that Johannes Hahn talks to those who introduced the taxes and to try to persuade them to revoke them, or perhaps the members of Serbian List as partners of the ruling coalition do feel responsible for the raising of the taxes,” Petrovic underlined.
In a telephone statement for New Press, Petrovic added that the Independent Liberal Party “was concerned about the position of the Serbian community before this “game” with taxes and stated that they would continue to protect the interest of the Serbian community.
