Thaci: I have no nostalgia for Belgrade (Telegrafi)
Outgoing Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, continues to support the idea that Albanians leaders, including Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga, should travel to Belgrade. In an interview for Radio Dukagjini, Thaci said that any time Kosovo is treated as a country, its representatives should take part in meetings such as the present one in Belgrade as this, he stressed, contributes to consolidation of the state of Kosovo. Asked about the possibility of him visiting Belgrade, Thaci said replied, “I have no nostalgia for such visits, or any thirst for them, but I can freely say that I will always act in line with the highest constitutional and legal responsibilities”.
Commenting on demands of post-election coalition representatives to reflect and give way in order to resolve the political deadlock, Thaci said the people of Kosovo have reflected on 8 June and that he will reflect in accordance to the will of the people.
Thaci also revealed that in his farewell meeting with EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security, Catherine Ashton, he presented her with a piece of filigree jewelry from Prizren.
