Minister Hyseni in Brussels, requests membership at Interpol (Koha)
Skender Hyseni, Kosovo’s Minister for Internal Affairs, is staying for a two-day visit in Brussels. Today, he met with Deputy of the General Secretary at the European People’s Party (EPP), Christian Kremer. They discussed the general situation in Kosovo and the region, with a special focus on the situation of the rule of law in Kosovo. Minister Hyseni informed Kremer about the work of the Government of Kosovo, especially the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in addressing and resolving the problem of illegal migration, fight of the violent extremism and terrorism, foreign wars, regional cooperation on security field, etc.
They especially stressed the need of the intensification of the international police cooperation, as a necessity for an efficient prosecution and detection of different international crimes. “Exchange of information is essential under the modern circumstances of fighting crime,” stressed Minister Hyseni, therefore, Kosovo is interested to become a member of the Interpol and to find more efficient forms of cooperation with Europol.
Hyseni will also meet today with Belgium’s Minister and Deputy Minister of the Internal Affairs, Jan Jambon
