Vetevendosje MP: Announcement of the US official on demarcation, misunderstood (Indeksonline)

The biggest opposition political party of Kosovo, Vetevendosje, assessed the visit of the Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs at the United States Department, Victoria Nuland as positive. Kosovo Assembly MP from this party, Shqipe Pantina, told Indeksonline that Nuland did not request from the MPs to vote the agreement on demarcation of the border with Montenegro, signed by Thaçi. She also does not consider the fact that Nuland did not meet opposition parties as problematic. “Usually, leaders of the different friendly countries meet with the leaders of the state, with those who are responsible to make and implement decisions. Therefore, it is more than acceptable for any EU or U.S. official to meet with the leaders of the institutions,” Pantina said. “The pressure should fall on them and this is how I understood the visit of Ms. Nuland, as some kind of pressure in the positive sense of the word, to our institutions to accelerate and intensify war against corruption as one of the key problems that we as a society are facing every day, and which is also the main obstacle for integration of the country and visa liberalization,” she said.
