Pacolli meets Mogherini, asks for speeding up of visa liberalisation process (media)

Kosovo’s Foreign Minister, Behgjet Pacolli, said in a meeting with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, that the decision to grant Kosovo visa liberalisation is decisive and needs to happen soon as it has a strong impact on the perspective of the Kosovo youth. Pacolli also reconfirmed the commitment of Kosovo institutions to dialogue for normalization of relations with Serbia but added that it was important for the process to have a timeframe.

In a press release issued by the European Union External Action Service, Mogherini is quoted as saying that Kosovo is well placed to move forward on fulfilling the only two remaining conditions for visa liberalisation, notably to ratify the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro and to sustain the track record on the fight against organised crime and corruption. “Federica Mogherini also reaffirmed her strong commitment to the European Union perspective of the entire Western Balkans region, so that by the end of her mandate the progress achieved will be irreversible for all six partners.”
