The three truths of the dialogue (Koha Ditore)
The paper’s Brussels-based correspondent Augustin Palokaj in an opinion piece recalls that Kosovo’s Minister without portfolio, Edita Tahiri, said that Serbia’s Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic signed an agreement with Kosovo with the acronym “Republic of Kosovo” written on the documents. “Surprisingly in the EU they say that ‘this is true’, but in the same way Kosovo’s Prime Minister Isa Mustafa signed agreements which say that everything in the territory of Kosovo is property of the Republic of Serbia,” Palokaj writes. “Again we are returning to a paradox which has followed this dialogue since the beginning, according to which: Kosovo is a country, is not a country or is part of Serbia.” According to Palokaj, many political analysts are right to interpret the agreements as an acceptance of a ‘double sovereignty’ between Pristina and Belgrade for a part of Kosovo's territory.” Palokaj stresses that it seems that there are three different truths when it comes to the agreements reached with Serbia. "One of Kosovo, one of Serbia and one of the EU. ”We would understand the Prime Minister and the ministers who participated in the dialogue if they would say that they have accepted the agreements because they have been under pressure, but we cannot understand it when they try to say that these agreements are good for Kosovo, because they are not good,” Palokaj concludes.
