Who is calling on Edi Rama to leave the past behind (Koha)

Brussels-based correspondent Augustin Palokaj argues in an opinion piece that no one from Kosovo has the right to call on Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama not to visit Belgrade at a time when Kosovar leaders have not only met with leaders of Serbia but also made concessions with them in the Brussels dialogue. “If he does go to Belgrade, Rama should show more dignity than Kosovar leaders showed in meetings in Brussels, where they were inferior toward the Serbian side and fell under the pressure of bureaucrats in Brussels. If Rama decides not to go, he should also provide his reasons and should not be overly concerned with eventual criticism from Brussels. Albania is a state for over 100 years now and the government elected by the people there should decide how it will build relations with Belgrade,” Palokaj writes.
