Jevtic with OSCE representatives on issues affecting non-majority communities in Kosovo (Radio KIM)
Issues affecting the non-majority communities in Kosovo, including usurped properties, non-implementation of decisions, the slowdown in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue because of the tariffs were the topics discussed in a meeting between the Minister for Communities and Returns Dalibor Jevtic and OSCE officials, High Commissioner on National Minorities Lamberto Zannier and Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, Ambassador Jan Braathu, KIM Radio reported.
Jevtic, in a press statement issued by the Ministry, said a chance to change the situation must be given.
“The peace is our interest and a goal, and we have to work together towards that aim. I hope for positive shifts to happen in the forthcoming period related to resolving crucial issues, and I truly believe, a chance to the dialogue would be given,” Jevtic said.
OSCE Commissioner Lamberto Zannier said the problems should be resolved “through the dialogue at all levels between the two peoples in Kosovo,” the press statement said.
Jevtic also noted that returnees in Kosovo cannot visit their properties and houses because their properties are usurped, adding that this problem must be resolved in order to make progress in the process of return.
Zannier said he would point out the problems Serbs in Kosovo are facing to other officials, and added he thinks “greater participation of non-majority communities is needed in the institutions in Kosovo,” the press statement concluded.
