Jevtic: I will insist on solving the case of Jokic family (Vesti online)
Dalibor Jevtic, Minister for Communities and Return in Kosovo Government says that he is not familiar with the case of Jokic family, from Vitina/Viti municipality, but added that he will insist on solving the case. He pointed out that solving the issue of usurped property is not within the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Communities and Returns, but " every time Ministry get a request related to the same or similar problems, we send a letter to the relevant authorities and institutions in the form of notice, with the request for solving such problems in the shortest possible time."
„The only thing we, as an institution, can do is to insist on solving problems because such problems are the obstacles for bigger return. I therefore always emphasize that other institutions are also responsible for the return of displaced persons to Kosovo, because if these and similar issues are not resolved, then we will not have confidence-building as a precondition for normalizing relations and coexistence in Kosovo,“ says Jevtic.
In yesterday's edition of Vesti online was published a statement of Velibor Jokic from the village Gusica in Vitina/Viti, who owns 22 acres of land in Kosovo, but can not use it and for 12 years lives in Sremcica in Belgrade, with his wife and two sons in a rented apartment. His house in the village was destroyed and for 15 years his land is usurped. Velibor is dealing with the Kosovo Courts for ten years and he can not exercise the right to compensation, or to register his own property in the Cadastral Office.
