UN explained presence of Thaci, Haradinaj and Pacolli in New York (Tanjug)

Pristina delegation comprising of Hashim Thaci, Ramush Haradinaj and Beghjet Pacolli, did not receive an invitation for the UN General Assembly session, Serbian media report. UN Spokesperson Eri Kaneko said this, adding that representatives of Pristina authorities are staying in New York privately. “They are not officially invited, the reasons are known, and in New York they can be only privately,” Kaneko said, refuting information by Pristina TV Klan Kosova, that reported Thaci takes part in the work of the General Assembly. Kaneko further explained that representatives of UN member states, upon the invitation, take part in the work of the General Assembly, and only representatives of UN member states and those that have observer status can speak in discussions at a high level. She elaborated that Pristina does not have observer status in the UN, and it only applies to the Vatican and Palestine. This can also explain why no one from the Pristina delegation was present at a dinner, that USA President Donald Trump organized for participants of the General Assembly on the first day of its session, Serbian media reported.
