Wife of Oliver Ivanovic: I will ask them what reason for stalling is (Vecernje Novosti)

Milena, wife of late Oliver Ivanovic, told Belgrade-based Vecernje Novosti daily that she would give a statement to the prosecution, investigating her husband’s murder. Earlier Oliver’s brother and party colleagues also gave statements to the prosecution. “I want to find out whether they are working seriously or they want everything to be hidden,” she said. Although, more than 100 days have passed since Ivanovic was assassinated, none of his family members still have any official information about the case. His wife told Vecernje Novosti that she has a degree of understanding information cannot be disclosed for the purpose of the investigation, but highlights the period of silence is almost four months long. “What further frightens me is the experience from some previous cases, where it has been shown that the chance of something being discovered diminishes as the time passes. I’ll ask the prosecutors whether this stalling implies a serious work on the case, and I’ll ask them when I would be able to find out the results of this work, or this is just a delay so that everything would be hidden and forgotten,” she added. Milena also said she has got some unofficial information from private contacts, but that there were many speculations.

“It is therefore very important that we’re officially informed about the progress of the investigation and what we can expect. Our only goal is to find and punish the perpetrators and contractors of this abominable crime, and we will not give up on that. And I am really bothered by the silence that surrounds the murder (...),” she told Vecernje Novosti.
