Serbs from the villages near Obilic appeal the police to protect them from robbers of cattle and machines (NMagazin, RTK2)
Villagers from the Obilic municipality appealed the police to further engage in order to punish thieves, whose targets they are continuously, reports NMagazin.
"We tried to get a response from the police, but unsuccessfully, they did not respond to our messages and calls," say the Serbs from the villages Babin Most and Milosevo.
RTK2 reported that the theft of cattle and agricultural machines in Serb villages in Kosovo continues, and locals often do not visit the police because, as many Serbs say, there is nothing out of it - none of the thefts were resolved.
In the past period, several burglaries and theft in the villages of Obilic - Babin Most and Milosevo took place, when from several households were stolen six heads of cattle, agricultural machinery, accumulator, water pump and other households items, which have disturbed the residents of that area.
The last theft in Milosevo happened two days ago, when goats were stolen from the family Adjancic.
"This is the fourth theft in two years, we did not report to the police because there is nothing out of it, which means that nothing would happen and now. It was not some big material damage, but we kept the goats for the medication. Sometimes I am very upset and I think that there is no life here," said Blagica Adjancic from Milosevo.
Three kilometres away, in the village Babin Most, many households suffered losses, and there was no trace about the perpetrators. An agricultural machine was stolen to Sreten Vuckovic and four goats from Olga Jovanovic.
''They tried to steal the car from my son, they torn the wires, probably they have failed to start the car, so they only took the battery,'' said Olga Jovanovic from the village Babin Most.
Vuckovic said that they had taken a motorcycle from him, that the police came and did nothing, and that he is afraid that thieves could come again.
The residents of the Babin Most village are worried because theft does not stop, and the perpetrators of these crimes remain unpunished.
"I'm on duty in the yard all night, I cannot go anywhere because they will steel something," said one worried citizen of Babin Most.
''When it happened to the neighbours, it would happen to us, as well,'' another local citizen added.
