OSCE refuses formal agreement with CEC (Koha Ditore)

Koha Ditore reports that OSCE mission in Kosovo has not reach a formal agreement with Kosovo Central Election Commission for the fulfilling of operations in local elections of 3 November, even though it is obliged to do so, based on the Brussels agreement of 19 April between Kosovo and Serbia. Members of CEC working group for the drafting of the agreement ,have told the newspaper that OSCE hesitates due to the fact that it does not recognize Kosovo as an independent state and because there are requests for increased competencies. OSCE officials have started their work in the field and have refused to tell the reason for not reaching the agreement.

 

According to the CEC member of the working Group, Ilir Gashi, refusal of CEC to give increased competencies to OSCE, above the role of facilitator, made the latter not to reach a technical agreement with CEC. However, this was not an obstacle for OSCE to start election operations in the field.

 

CEC members stated that OSCE illegally and without the decission of CEC started with the voter’s registration and collection of application in Serbia.

 

The symbol, a good tool for political advertisement (Lajm)

Lajm reports that Ramush Haradinaj and Behgjet Pacolli, each in his own way, have stated that the symbol is not necessary in the ballots, compare to the importance of local elections. Thaçi has reiterated the stance that the issue of symbols in the ballots will remain competency of Kosovo Election Commission. While in LDK, Isa Mustafa and Eqrem Kryeziu consider that removal of symbols is meaningless.

 

Milo: Dacic and Nikolic will soon recognize Kosovo (dailies)

Epoka e Re reports that former foreign minister of Albania, Paskal Milo, said that even though Dacic and Nikolic stated that they will not recognize Kosovo, they will do this very soon. After 100 years, all countries in Balkans have made progress and it can be called a zone which is moving towards stability, also on relationships.

 

Hoxhaj: Belgrade is the address to reveal the fate of the missing persons (dailies)

Kosovo foreign minister, Enver Hoxhaj, said that Belgrade is the address to the solution of the fate of the missing persons, while Serbia is the only state that committed genocide and ethnic cleansing in Kosovo. In an authorial text in the Croatian newspaper Vecernji List, Kosovo foreign minister stated that Belgrade should show results on this issue, adding that solution of this problem is very important to Albanian families.

 

Ballots in an envelope (Tribuna)

According to this daily, Kosovo Election Commission has decided a few days ago about the content of ballots. Heads of the biggest parties in Kosovo agreed with Serbia’s request to remove symbols from the ballots for  Municipal elections the of Republic of Kosovo. The ballots will therefore be  without symbols of the Republic of Kosovo. The ballots will be however put into an envelope which is going carry the insignia of the Republic of Kosovo and the symbol of CEC. This is the compromise with which heads of the parties except for Vetëvendosje, agreed.

 

Krasniqi defines principled politician (dailies)

The newspaper reports that the Speaker of Kosovo Assembly, Jakup Krasniqi, said that the principled politician should look after the quality of the life of citizens, while, according to him, the citizens should evaluate intellectual and national qualities of the politician. Speaker of Kosovo Parliament continues with analytical postings on the social network Facebook, describing this time how should principled politician look.

 

Progress on investigations at “The Yellow House” (Bota Sot)

The Spokesperson of the Investigation Special Team, on the accusations for the trafficking of human organs, Joas Sous, stated that there is progress on the investigations on this case. Sous did not want to give any details, however he said that the team is authorized to raise charges against those for whom they collect facts. “Investigations on the case “Yellow House,” are progressing. However, as such, it would have been unsuitable for us to speculate at this point regarding the results of the investigation,” said Sous.
