Mustafa: Special court will address political killings (Zeri)
Isa Mustafa, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, said on Sunday that political killings that happened in post-conflict Kosovo will be handled by the special court, which is expected to become operational soon. He added that all cases that do not fall within the special court’s scope of work will be handled by local prosecutors. Mustafa made these comments at the 16th anniversary of the assassination of Enver Maloku, a reporter and activist from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK).
Jahjaga, Thaci attend Unity March in Paris (Zeri)
Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga and Foreign Minister Hashim Thaci attended on Sunday in Paris the Unity March in honor of the victims of the attack on the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo. Jahjaga and Thaci were also received at the Presidential Palace by French President Francois Hollande, to whom they conveyed the condolences of the people of Kosovo.
Xhakaliu: All asylum seekers will be repatriated (Zeri)
Kosovo’s Ambassador to Germany, Skender Xhakaliu, said in an interview for Radio Kosova, that all asylum seekers from Kosovo in Germany will be repatriated. Xhakaliu said that Kosovo is recognized as a safe territory and that there is no need for asylum for people from Kosovo. According to Xhakaliu, the increase in the number of asylum seekers in Germany and other European countries undermines Kosovo’s visa liberalization process.
