Maliqi: A campaign focused on economy (lajminet)
Political analyst, Shkëlzen Maliqi, assessed that election campaign does not appear to be comprehensive and that political parties are focusing on the future and economic development. He said that compared to the other parties, the election campaign of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK,) has more rhythm and complete content. According to him, the election campaign of the Democratic League of Kosovo is a outdated and vague.
Maliqi said that the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK,) is being presented with an opposition programme while Vetëvendosje is proclaiming a new platform which was also shown during local elections. He added that the Alliance for New Kosovo (AKR) believes on repetition of the success of local elections.
The Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA,) is seeking the vote mainly from prior voters of PDK.
Maliqi expects the election campaign to conclude without incidents. “I am convinced that there will not be any harshening or serious incident that would affect the image of the country,” he said. “We have the institutions now which organize and supervise elections. Of course there can be polemics, which is normal and they happen in every country,” said Maliqi.
