Mustafa: Kosovo ready to join UNESCO (Kosovapress)

Prime Minister of Kosovo Isa Mustafa met the UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations Hervé Ladsous with whom he discussed the political situation in Kosovo and the region.

Prime Minister Mustafa informed Ladsous about priorities of the Kosovo government, about sustainable economic development, rule of law, fight against corruption and organised crime and Euro-Atlantic integration.

The Kosovo government is part of the war against terror and extremism and it has drafted a strategy for fighting such phenomena. Prime Minister Mustafa also said Kosovo was ready to join the Council of Europe and UNESCO.

Prime Minister Mustafa said the Kosovo government was making all necessary steps to build correct relations with all countries in the region, including Serbia, in the service of good neighborly relations as a requirement for Euro-Atlantic integration.

Mustafa thanked Ladsous for the cooperation and support that the United Nations have offered Kosovo and expressed the willingness and readiness of the Kosovo government to continue this cooperation.

Hervé Ladsous acknowledged Kosovo’s progress in the economy, the laws and in the dialogue with Serbia in the service of a better future for the peoples of both countries.
