Gjini: Assembly will be blocked, opposition has strategic plans for protests! (Gazeta Blic)
Ardian Gjini, deputy leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), in an interview for the news site, said the opposition bloc is determined not to allow the normal functioning of the Kosovo Assembly until the Government withdraws its signatures from the agreement on the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities and the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro. “The opposition is confident that these two agreements are highly detrimental to Kosovo and should not be implemented,” he said. Asked if the opposition will organize protests in November, Gjini said: “We have yet to set a date for the protest and I believe that the opposition will very soon decide on this. So far there is an agreement to hold peaceful popular protests with clear demands vis-a-vis the government”. According to Gjini, the current government is directly responsible for the current situation. “This government is ready to risk everything just so that it can maintain its accommodation in government. The best example is the government’s indifference toward these two governments. The Prime Minister has a neutral position toward the dangers that the country is facing ... The opposition understands that it is useless to discuss these matters [the two agreements] with the government. They are indifferent toward facts and arguments. This is why the opposition has decided to prevent the implementation of these detrimental agreements,” he added.
