EU to appoint special court judges during summer (Koha/RFE)
The European Union officials in Kosovo told Radio Free Europe that all the logistical and administrative steps were taken for the establishment of the special court for war crimes. Dinka Živalj, spokesperson for the EU Special Representative in Kosovo, said on Monday that the process of appointing judges has not yet begun, even though the vacancy for other staff was concluded on 27 may. “The second vacancy is expected to be published during summer when also judges will be hired,” Živalj said. Meanwhile, authorities in Pristina said they have completed all their obligations for the establishment of the special court, including the adoption of laws related to this issue.
