FOL: Kosovo courts improved performance on trying corruption cases (Kosovapress)
Kosovo-based non-governmental organization FOL, presented today statistics regarding court’s performance on addressing corruption cases covering the period between January and June 2017. Jeton Zylfaj, programme manager at FOL, said this period marked an increase of court performance by 120% but that there is still a backlog of cases which the court need to address. He said that of 1,004 persons accused of corruption during the reporting period, the court managed to address 60 of them, of which 10 persons were sentenced to prison, 16 were fined, and 17 conditionally released.
