Thaci pleased with decision on demarcation, calls on MPs to vote it (Koha)
The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci welcomed the decision of the government to proceed the agreement on the border demarcation with Montenegro for ratification by the Assembly.
“I want to believe on the political and state will of the representatives elected by citizens, but at the same time I invite all Kosovo Assembly MPs, regardless their political affiliation, to be united on ratification of this inter-state agreement.
Ratification of the agreement for border demarcation between the Republic of Kosovo and Montenegro brings an end to the isolation of our country, enabling removal of visa regime, but it also strengthens Kosovo internationally.
Today’s decision of the government, ends the saga of stale academic debates, which by not bringing any new argument, have prolonged for three years isolation of the citizens of the country, causing confusion and fear for alleged danger of losing territory.
It is time now for the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo to make its own meritorious decision on interest of the citizens of the country, who with an unparalleled patience are waiting for years removal of visas, respectively removal of isolation.
