Danas: Vucic and Palmer to talk during the UN General Assembly

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will meet with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Matthew Palmer next week in New York, during a session of the United Nations General Assembly, diplomatic circles say to Belgrade based daily Danas.

German analyst: Border change bears unforeseeable effect (N1, Kossev)

There will not be border corrections or the territory swap between Kosovo and Serbia because that would leave the unforeseen consequences, Bodo Weber, a German analyst, has said, the KoSSev website reported.

Weber, an expert on the Balkans – European Union relations, also said late on Monday that both Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic and his Kosovo’s counterpart Hashim Thaci realised that there was a significant resistance within the EU, especially from Germany, to any border changes.

Hahn: Correction of the boundaries as a possible "final part of the puzzle" (RTS, MIA)

EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn says that within the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, "territorial exchange" or "border correction" is not excluded as "the final part of the puzzle", reports Radio television of Serbia, quoting the FYROM's news agency MIA.

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci in an interview for Belgrade based daily Danas says that as leaders they are responsible for the well-being of our children and future generations, when talking about Brussels based negotiation, and he thinks that President Vucic and himself were willing to prevent the past from blocking the future or endanger peace in the region in the next five or 50 years.

Jevtic: We are not interested in demarcation at present (KIM radio)

Deputy Prime Minister Dalibor Jevtic says in the Show 'Dogovor' of the RTV KIM that  despite the pressure, the Serbian List remains at the position not to vote for the ratification of the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro, because, as he says, at present representatives of this Serbian party are not interested in it.

He also says that a meeting with the Speaker of Parliament Kadri Veseli did not happen two days ago, as the Albanian media reported, reports KIM radio.

Haradinaj: Absence from demarcation session, message for isolation (Kosovapress)

Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, called on Vetevendosje MPs and its splinter group to support the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro. He it’s absolutely paramount for MPs to attend the demarcation session on Tuesday and noted that any absence would send a message in favour of Kosovo’s isolation. “I urge Visar [Ymeri] and other colleagues to consider where we have come. If in moments like these we don’t understand our role, I don’t know how processes will reflect,” Haradinaj said.

Hoti: Ruling coalition needs to secure demarcation votes (Telegrafi)

Head of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) parliamentary group, Avdullah Hoti, said his party fully supports the border demarcation with Montenegro and that it is up to the ruling coalition parties to secure the necessary votes to pass it. He said he very much hoped this issue that is being dragged on for three years finally gets an ending.

Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister and deputy leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Enver Hoxhaj, said he was convinced the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro will be put to vote at the Assembly this week. He said they are close to reaching consensus on ratification of the agreement. “All partners in the government, the political parties that represent the citizens of Kosovo and political parties representing Serb and non-Serb communities will support the agreement.
