“Kosovo should have been recognized by all EU countries” (DW, RTK)

Former UN High Representative to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schwarz-Schilling, criticized the fact that five out of 27 EU countries have not recognized Kosovo.

“Europe is not capable to have a clear policy towards Serbia and Kosovo and this is a shame,” he reportedly said.

“This is an absolute egoism of these five countries. EU can never win war on democracy in this manner,” he said.

Majority of the European and UN countries have recognized Kosovo. But it has to be said openly that recognition of Kosovo should have happened immediately after the war in 1999-2000 period. So it was again weakness of the UN and Europeans that did not bring this matter to an end.
