Construction of the highway Nis-Pristina-Durres is important for Serbia because it will connect Corridor 10 with the Albanian ports of Durres and Vlora which should be counted on in the future, stated State Secretary in the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure.
"Berlin process should be continued in Vienna on 27 August, when the first decision on the financing of specific projects is expected. This project is the focus of the region, apropos Serbia, Albania and the EU, and after the visit of the Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic to Albania, signing of a protocol between representatives of Serbia and Albania is expected in order to realize this project," said to Tanjug, state secretary in the ministry Dejan Trifunovic.
The Secretary of State stressed that the project would be financed by the Fund of the EU for the Western Balkans, which has a defined percentage of grants for infrastructure projects.
European Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn has previously announced that the EU in the coming period would single out a billion euros for infrastructure improvements in the countries of the Western Balkans.
