The American announcement (Kosova Sot)

The paper in its front page editorial today writes that the announcement of the new US ambassador to Kosovo, Greg Delawie, that his top priority would be combating corruption in Kosovo, is very encouraging and hopeful for Kosovo society. The paper notes the US diplomat certainly has disappointed some influential politicians in Kosovo, "who usually have found the support to stay in power at the US embassy." The editorial further notes that only one program will not eliminate the phenomenon of corruption, but it is a good initiative for combating all the corrupt individuals. "Rule of law is the guarantee for the punishment of corrupt individuals.” The paper also recalls that Kosovo was ranked amongst the most corrupt countries in the world. “The attitude of the American ambassador is welcomed and very hopeful but equally welcomed would be if he would distance himself from the corrupt politicians.”
