Security intelligence agencies are reported to be concerned that Thaci may be the target of an assassination attempt by Serb nationalists. This has led to changes in Thaci’s agenda and an increase in security measures for the visit.

Meanwhile, Telegrafi reports that the first official visit to Montenegro by Hashim Thaci has caused strong reactions from the Montenegrin public, which has led to the hosts’ decision to cancel Thaci’s speech on NATO integration planned for tomorrow. Sources told the Montenegrin media that the speech was cancelled for security reasons after associations of displaced persons from Kosovo currently living in Montenegro announced that they would stage protests in Podgorica against Thaci’s visit.
