Serb house set on fire as a consequence of the football match (Blic)
Minister for Communities and Return Dalibor Jevtic said that a Serb returnee’s house set on fire in village Drsnik, in Klina/Klinë municipality, comes as a consequence of the inflammatory situation which followed the football match between Serbian and Albanian national teams in Euro 2016 qualifier, and added that it is regretful that victims are always those who are the least to be blamed.
Jevtic visited the place of the incident and voiced fear that this won’t be the last one ‘unless something is done’. He stressed that situation is more than worrying. “We need to know who perpetrators are, and who set on fire this house and why, because this is the 13th incident in this year and we have to hear, finally, some answers,” said Jevtic. He said that he talked with locals in village Drsnik, and representatives of Klina/Klinë municipality and police. “We came again to conclusion that innocent are victims here. I’ll request from police to improve operational plan in order that the people here, who are very disturbed, feel safer,” said Jevtic.
Representatives of the local self-governance also assessed that return to Klina/Klinë is possible but that last incidents are causing concerns. Kosovo police commander promised that police will be in better coordination with locals in order to prevent incidents.
