Janjić: Government did well for being proactive (Tanjug,Blic)
Political analyst Dusan Janjic said today that postponement of the debate over Trepca in the Kosovo Assembly leads to creation of space for continuation of dialogue, and that Serbian Government did well for being proactive.
He claims that the issue of Serbia’s property in Kosovo, along with the creation of the Association/Community of Serb municipalities, will be one of the important ones after the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina resumes in Brussels on 9 February.
“The Kosovo government has proposed to the Assembly to delay the debate until Wednesday, and it is not about backing down. It is about the creation of space for continuation of the dialogue which, through assistance of the international community, first of all of the American Embassy, started and lasted over the weekend,” said Janjic to Tanjug.
“The Serbian government did well for being proactive and that Prime Minister (Aleksandar) Vucic held talks with the American and other ambassadors, and that they dealt with that problem and clarified some ambiguities. They are close to the goal that Trepca and other public companies are discussed in Brussels,” stressed Janjic. According to him, the interest of international community is that rules of a civilized society are introduced in Kosovo.
