Protests against Jablanovic directed against the government (KIM Radio)
“Story, which is directed against the government and is misused by some for spreading hatred against the Serbs is irresponsible, unserious and is not contributing to anything,” said the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Branimir Stojanovic, on a RTV Kim show ‘Dogovor’ (Agreement).
Stojanovic said that protests against Jablanovic are staged by those who are against the government. “I don’t understand that political logic. There are 1001 other topics where one can built its political struggle,” said Stojanovic and added that some have come to idea to do it over the relations between Serbs and Albanians and to create certain dissatisfaction between people. “I understand the opposition’s way of functioning, but this is not the right way to do it,” said Stojanovic.
He went on to say that he understands why Minister for Communities and Return, Aleksandar Jablanvoic, reacted so sharply in case of protests of those who prevented displaced Serbs from Đakovica/Gjakovë to visit the town they were born in. “No one has the right to declare any town forbidden for Serbs, officially or unofficially,” said Stojanovic and added that Serbs can’t agree with that.
Stojanovic reflected on Jablanovic’s statement that he will tender his resignation only in case if that would be requested by the Serbian List and explained that such thing could happen only if he would not be performing his job well. He also said that despite protests, requests of the opposition and inflammatory statements, relations between the representatives of the Serbian List and coalition partners in the government are good.
