The head of the Serbian List Aleksandar Jablanovic yesterday met in Belgrade representatives of the Association of displaced Serbs from Djakovica/Gjakovë and promised assistance in relaxation of relations between displaced Serbs from that town and local Albanian population and local authorities.
“At the meeting we discussed joint actions and steps aiming at more frequent and unhindered visits of Djakovica Serbs to Djakovica, not only on the occasion of religious holidays but more often, in the light of relaxation of relations between Djakovica Serbs and local Albanian population and local authorities,’ said Jablanovic to TV Most.
He added that they discussed and activities that will lead to reaching a compromise between local Albanians and Serbs who would like to visit and stay in Djakovica/Gjakovë.
Next major Christian holiday is Easter and big job is ahead in terms of preparation of the visit of displaced Serbs from Djakovica/Gjakovë to that town. He promised, from the post he occupies, that he will do his outmost with Kosovo institutions for providing safety to those who would like to visit Djakovica/Gjakovë and added that the will on the side of local authorities is needed in order that all goes without problems on that day. “I hope that we will manage to make a shift in future from the zero point, not only in terms of visit of displaced Serbs to Djakovica on the occasion of Easter, but in regard to restoration and return of their usurped properties,” said Jablanovic.
