Ten experts write statute of the Community/Association of Serbian municipalities (Vecernje Novosti)
Deadline for the text of the statute of the Community/Association of Serbian municipalities (ZSO) is four months, as agreed in Brussels; Vecernje Novosti reported that it should be ready much earlier.
Ljubomir Maric, Minister of Local Self-Government in Kosovo's government and Coordinator of the Management Team for the establishment of the ZSO, confirmed this to Vecernje Novosti. He said that talks were well underway and the establishment of expert working groups and teams to support the drafting of the ZSO statute. More than ten experts will be in the team, who will work on the text and, if necessary, depending on the topic that number will increase. International experts will also be involved in the drafting of the statute along with domestic legal experts.
-We are working hard and I expect that the document, which is the basis for the establishment of the ZSO, will be ready as soon as possible. We have a framework, principles for the formation of the ZSO are established and the first version will be made before December, as provided by the Brussels agreement.
Maric said that the ZSO should enable co-existence of all in Kosovo, which would be long-term process, and that it was not directed against anyone.
