Maric: There must be a readiness for punishment of attackers (RTS)
Kosovo Minister of Local Government Administration, Ljubomir Maric, told RTS that the recent attacks on Serbs in Kosovo are a message that they will not be peaceful and that they are not welcome. He stressed that it is required urgent involvement of the police from the Serbian community in these areas.
As a guest of RTS News, Ljubomir Maric recalled that the attacks occurred less than three days after the visit of representatives of the Serbs to Pec/ Peja and Gorazdevac. He said that government representatives visited yesterday residents of Gorazdevac and that they talked to the police about the measures that should be taken, including checkpoints at the entrance and exit of Gorazdevac. Maric said that Serbian representatives discussed this issue with Kosovo PM, stressing that in case there will not be adequate counter-actions, they will request from KFOR to guard the village.
He reiterated that he expects concrete reactions from Kosovo Prime Minister, but added that the international community is responsible for security in Kosovo.
