Vinka Radosavljevic, presidential candidate (Vecernje Novosti)
The Serbian List will soon announce Vinka Radosavljevic, the current Head of Pec/Peja district, as a candidate for President of Kosovo. She graduated in Economics and before her current assignment she was a professor at a school in Vidanje, Klina/Kline municipality. The President of the Serbian List, Slavko Simic, said that the idea of a Serbian candidate for Kosovo presidency has been seriously considered: “We have a short-list and in the case we do decide to run for presidency, we will immediately present our representative's programme.”
When it comes to the dilemma of whether a Serbian representative should become President of the “Republic of Kosovo” Simic said: “This would mean being President of the province of Kosovo and Metohija. It is clear that Serbs are still prejudiced against Kosovo institutions, but we live here and we must accept responsibility for our people.” Simic said that possible candidacy will not be motivated by the “it is important to participate” motto. He stressed that “one must prepare the ground for the future election of high ranking officials in Kosovo from the Serbian community.”
