Armed members of the Albanian National Army (ANA) in the region of Mitrovica have called its members on mobilization, reported web portal Veriu.info. A video, published on this portal, calls ANA’s members on fight and swearing in.

“I am calling fighters to be ready for additional fight for protection of our national interests because parallel structures in North Mitrovica are torturing indigenous Albanians, whereas our former collaborators who are ruling Kosovo today are greedily filling their pockets with money,” said anonymous commander in this video.

Momir Stojanović, former director of the Military-Security Agency claims that the video of ANA members is evidence that representatives of the international authorities in Kosovo from 1999 until today, have neither disarmed the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) nor put the arms under control, and video footage shows that situation in Kosovo could escalate. He also argues that international community should come out with the stance on whether ANA is on the list of terrorist organizations.

Zoran Dragišić, professor at the Faculty for Security says that it is about association of ‘young forces’ of the KLA who deem senior terrorists as an inspiration. “Threats should be taken seriously, because situation in Kosovo is such that clashes are always possible. There is quite sufficient amount of arms there, and people are radicalized,” said Dragišić.
