Arrests after Special Court indictments will cause a political earthquake (Blic)
Pristina lawyer Tome Gashi said that the arrests following the Special Court indictments for crimes of the former KLA, which could be expected in October, will cause earthquakes in the political scene of Kosovo. “The political scene of Kosovo will be shaken when the first arrests are made. Former Chief Prosecutor of the EU Special Investigative Task Force Clint Williamson said that some indictments were prepared,” said Gashi for daily Kosova sot.
Gashi said that opening of the vacancy announcements for staff working in the Special Court is important, stressing that it will contribute that the Court become functional without delays. “The vacancies have already been announced and formal appointments of judges and prosecutors are expected. Among them may be some EULEX judges and prosecutors,” said Gashi.
According to the portal gazetafjala, vacancies were announced for 37 positions, among them two prosecutors, while other positions are related to the protection of witnesses, the finance and other administrative functions. The vacancies should be finalized by 15 June.
