Case ‘Billboard’: Serbs did not leave destroyed houses and churches (Vesti)

The Deputy Kosovo Prime Minister, Branimir Stojanović, called everyone on restraint and urged institutions to closely follow what is happening in the village Mušutište. Stojanović addressed journalists at a press conference on the occasion of the appearance of a billboard in the village Mušutište in Suva Reka municipality, with images of killed civilians and members of the Kosovo Liberation Army, crying Kosovo Albanian women and destroyed houses, with the title; “This is what local Serbs from Mušutište have left behind after leaving”.

Stojanović said that those who have set the billboard did not identify themselves and reasons for placing the billboard, however one can conclude that they had their personal reasons, which are continued use of usurped Serbian properties. He added that no matter on all efforts aimed at intimidating Serbs, their representatives in Kosovo institutions will continue to work on the return of all who wish to do so.

Stojanović went on to say that Serbian representatives will remain determined to return people to Mušutište, where 187 Serbian houses were burnt down and 11 churches destroyed, which were untouched at the time when they left. He also said that he has respect for all victims, however all perpetrators of crimes have their names and surnames.

Stojanović urged authorities to punish all who are inciting racial, religious or national hatred in relation to the erected billboard in Mušutište, which was left without a single Serb after 1999.
