Mišćević: It's not all about Kosovo (Danas)

European integration is a question of reforms, and in this process not all is about Kosovo, said tonight, head of Serbia's team for negotiations with the EU, Tanja Mišćević speaking at the Belgrade Security Forum.

- There is frustration with chapter 35, in the negotiations of Serbia with the EU on Kosovo, because there is no previous experience and no one can say what the criteria for assessing whether Serbia meets the requirements of Chapter 35 - Mišćević said at a session of the Forum on the topic "Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and future in the EU."

Honorary Director of the European Commission Pierre Mirel says that dialogue occasionally has been used for the revenge, for hiding socio - political problems and the realization of short-term gain at the expense of long-term benefits.

- After an agreement is reached, the next day the two sides have completely different statements, so the question is how we can believe the negotiators. Therefore, the negotiation process must be transparent - said Mirel, adding that any unilateral decision could encourage nationalist sentiment and complicate the arrival of a solution.

The Executive Director of the Balkan Group Naim Rašiti said that deadlines should be established for the dialogue, because "you cannot discuss the normalization 15 years''. Rašiti said that because of the benefit of both Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo, relation between the governments in Belgrade and Pristina has to improve.

Vice-President of the Assembly of Serbia Gordana Čomić estimated that "there are more different interpretations of the dialogue than the dialogue itself." People do not have the right information about what was happening, said Čomić.

The assistant ministers in the Kosovo government Bajram Gecaj and Ramadan Iljaz, a deputy in the Kosovo parliament Ilir Deda and official of Self-Determination Dukagjin Gorani have been announced as speakers at the tonight's panel.

They, as well as the Head of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Đurić, have cancelled participation in the security forum.
