With whom will Vucic have dialogue on Kosovo? (Fonet, Danas)
In an exclusive article published yesterday by Blic daily, President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic invited citizens to the internal dialogue on Kosovo.
Commenting on the article and Vucic’s invitation, the leader of the New Party, Zoran Zivkovic said that Vucic would first need to take a stance on Kosovo, which he kept changing over the last 15 years and over the last 15 days as well, Fonet and Danas daily reported.
Asked if he would accept the invitation, Zivkovic said it depends how the invitation would be formulated. Asked if Vucic would be ready to sign, prior to Serbia’s accession to the EU, a legally binding document with Kosovo that it will not block Kosovo further, Zivkovic replied:
“I cannot assess what Vucic will do, but if he is ready “to sell the faith for dinner”, godfather and friends, as well as Serbia and Kosovo, for the sake of personal benefit, power and authority, that is something more than certain.”
Leader of the Left-wing of Serbia, Borisav Stefanovic, commenting on the final reach of the internal dialogue on Kosovo, if it happens said:
“The highest point would be acceptance of Belgrade that Pristina enters international organizations, meaning to stop blocking Kosovo. It could be a concession to precisely regulate issue of the Community of the Serb Municipalities and everything what has been agreed in Brussels and it not yet implemented.”
According to analyst Dusan Janjic, Vucic now has to implement all what has been signed and falls within the Framework of the Agreement on Normalization of Relations with Kosovo from 2013. According to Janjic this is the reason behind Vucic’s call for internal dialogue on Kosovo.
Janjic thinks there are important shortcomings in the Vucic’s article.
“There are two important things missing, to see what his platform for Kosovo is and the second to create an atmosphere of a dialogue, because the situation in the media is such that media attacks are launched against anyone who says anything that is not in line with Vucic’s statements.
