Works continue near the main bridge in Mitrovica (Kontakt plus radio)
Works continue near the main Ibar Bridge in the northern part of Mitrovica, reports Kontakt plus radio.
The old asphalt in the Kolasinska street, near the Ibar Bridge, is removed with the help of heavy construction machines, at the spot planned for the construction of a roundabout, reports the radio.
The Ibar Bridge is still open only for pedestrians.
The bridge in Mitrovica was the main topic of the discussion of the last two rounds of technical dialogue in Brussels, last week and at the end of February, reports the radio.
The radio recalls that Mayor of North Mitrovica, Goran Rakic, ordered the works to stop on the Bridge, in April 2017, because of a series of incidents and a poor security situation.
He then asked the international and local security authorities to ensure the safety of citizens, and from the EU, the respect of the Brussels agreement.
Spokesperson for the EU Office in Kosovo Dinka Zivalj says in a statement to Radio Kontakt Plus that the EU expects the agreement on the Bridge in Mitrovica to be fully implemented as it is the case with other agreements reached within the framework of the Brussels dialogue.
"The forthcoming talks at the level of the main negotiators should help in further full implementation of this agreement," says Dinka Zivalj, reports Kontakt plus radio.
