Jevtic: We came to US to realistically present problems of Serbs (Tanjug, B92)
Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Communities and Returns, Dalibor Jevtic said the aim of the visit to Washington is to realistically present problems of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, Serbian media reported.
Jevtic with Srpska Lista delegation is paying a visit to the USA, where he will speak about recent incidents against Serbs and their properties in Kosovo.
“We came here to present a realistic picture of what the real problems of Serbs in Kosovo are, to speak about latest incidents and only in May there were 20 of them, but also about what had happened since my last visit to Washington in February. Here I mean about the incident in which Marko Djuric was arrested, the way how the arrest was executed that contributed to freezing relations between Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo,” Jevtic said.
He added, delegation would meet in Washington with State Department officials, and it has already met with USA Ministry of Defence and National Democratic Institute representatives.
Asked how he assesses the work of EULEX Mission, that is ending its mandate in Kosovo, Jevtic said expectations are not fulfilled, and pointed out there is still a high number of usurped property cases and murders, that have not been resolved.
Asked if he has information on the investigation of Oliver Ivanovic murder, Jevtic responded he does not, adding that responsible bodies and institutions running the investigation should provide the information, Serbian media reported.
