Cuoci: Belgrade and Pristina need to think how to shape future, important to find solution for people living here (Radio kontakt plus)
COM KFOR, Major-General Salvatore Cuoci said yesterday in Mitrovica North that both Belgrade and Pristina need to think how to shape the future, and at the end it is important to find a solution for the people living here, Radio kontakt plus reported.
General Cuoci made these remarks in the Rectorate of University of Pristina, temporarily dislocated to Mitrovica North, where he spoke with students about KFOR Mission, current and future challenges as well as responded to their questions.
General Cuoci also stressed the youth should focus on building the better future in Kosovo.
Asked if KFOR with current 5000 members can guarantee the safety and prevent incidents similar to that of March 2004 which it could not stop even with 50.000 soldiers, General Cuoci said that KFOR is here to provide a safe and peaceful environment and it would try to do so in the best possible way.
He voiced optimism and said he considers the time of war belongs to the past.
Rector of Pristina University, Professor Rade Grbic said that during the talks with KFOR most students expressed wish their safety in this area to be guaranteed and to have freedom of the movement enabled so they can freely live and study.
Student Pro-Rector, Nemanja Bisevac said the students were very pleased with the talks with KFOR Commander, as well as they were able to express problems students and Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija are facing, Radio kontakt plus reported.
