Serbian reactions on passing laws on KSF transformation, Srpska Lista MPs insulted (RTS, Tanjug, BETA, Vecernje Novosti)
The so-called Kosovo army is an army being created to threaten Serbia and the Serbs, Minister of Defense, Aleksandar Vulin said, in reaction to Kosovo Assembly passing the draft laws on Kosovo Security Forces (KSF) transformation, RTS reports today.
Vulin underlined he would talk today with the representatives of KFOR in Kosovo and that the conversation would regard Pristina's adoption of the laws on the Kosovo army.
He also noted the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic had several conversations on this matter as well. Responding to a question if Vucic would accept advice and declare a state of occupation, Vulin said he remains convinced the President would make the best possible decision.
"Now is the time to see if the international community is able to implement its own mandate and decisions," Vulin said, adding it is also necessary to see now "what weight the word of NATO carries."
Vulin said that Serbia had signed the (EU-brokered) Brussels agreement, because it received guarantees that there would be no armed forces in Kosovo. "Pristina in this way significantly destabilizes the situation in Kosovo and Metohija," he emphasized.
Meanwhile, Office for Kosovo and Metohija Director, Marko Djuric said Pristina’s decision could have unimaginable consequences and that Belgrade requests harsh reaction of the international community.
“Serbia would protect its interests in its entire territory and would protect the rights and security of all its citizens, regardless of all attempts to cause escalation and destabilization,” Djuric said.
Srpska Lista representatives noted that Pristina representatives with their decision to start the process of forming “some army” jeopardize peace and security, as well as future of the Western Balkans.
Srpska Lista noted the voting in the Kosovo Assembly took place contrary to the Kosovo laws, and this unveiled “hypocrite attitude and double standards by some Western countries.”
“They remain silent not only to the violation of the laws, constitution and UN SC Resolution 1244, but they also organized a joint KFOR-KSF exercise on the same day, thus in the most direct way sided with Pristina, showing the laws should not be respected if the violation concerns Serbs and their interests.
Vecernje Novosti also reported that Srpska Lista MPs while walking out from the Kosovo Assembly session yesterday were insulted by their Albanian colleagues who called them “Serbian pigs
