"If the government does not respond - we will block Merdare" (B92, Juzne Vesti)
From the protest in the city of Kursumlija (southern Serbia) was announced that the administrative crossing of Merdare will be blocked, if the Serbian authorities fail to respond to previously submitted requests, reports portal juznevesti.com.
According to the portal, if that does not happen, next Thursday the administrative crossing with Kosovo will be blocked.
B92 reports that the protest has gathered citizens dissatisfied with the situation in the state and the regime of the current government. Protests are held in this city from December 28th. Dissatisfied citizens demanded the resignation of the local government and the introduction of an interim administration that will be composed of all parties and groups of citizens who passed the censuses in the last elections and are part of the local parliament.
"We can no longer walk and wait, Kursumlija collapses, young people are leaving us, only citizens who do not have anywhere remain. There is no back after this, or we will hurl these pests from the power who only think of themselves and their party interests, or the Kursumlija municipality will find itself in the midst of the Albanian majority in the tens of years, because everything that is young leaves from here," said Dejan Milosevic, one of the protestors, reports portal B92, quoting juznevesti.com.
He points out that most participants in the protest are decisive in the planned goal, and that citizens of Kursumlija are unique in the idea of preserving their homes and that there is no negotiation about it.
