Protest “One in Five Million” announced in Mitrovica North (Radio KIM, B92)

A protest walk “One in Five Million” is announced to take place on Saturday, 2 February in Mitrovica North. According to the organizers it aims to show that inhabitants of this town, but also from other areas in Kosovo solidarize with the people protesting in major cities across Serbia for weeks and their requests, Radio KIM reports.

The gathering place is at Tzar Lazar Monument in the center of Mitrovica North, while the walk would end on the spot of Oliver Ivanovic murder, where the citizens would light candles.

Mitrovica North municipal councilor from Civic Initiative, Freedom, Democracy, Justice (GI SDP) Marko Jaksic wrote on his Twitter and Facebook profiles that the walk would certainly take place, even if the two or three people show up.

Milena Ivanovic, Oliver’s widow commented on Twitter announced protest in Mitrovica North. She wrote Mitrovica was not with Oliver, when it was needed, and it is too late now to walk and light the candles. She also urged “to let Oliver rest in peace,” B92 reported.
