Selakovic says Serbian president will react rationally to Pristina platform (RTS, N1, FoNet)
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will respond to Pristina’s negotiation platform in a rational manner, the president’s general secretary Nikola Selakovic told the Radio Television of Serbia (RTS).
General Secretary Nikola Selakovic said that Vucic’s response would be “rational, serious, responsible and firm”.
He added that the president had been warning about the platform for five months adding that it is clear now that the entire Belgrade-Pristina dialogue process is being stopped.
“The president met late into the night with top state officials, discussing possible measures, he met this morning with State Department Undersecretary David Hale and is going to have a meeting of the Council for National Security,” Selakovic said.
He said Hale’s visit to Belgrade and Pristina is “very important” but added that “Belgrade was very clear about the conditions to continue the dialogue”.
Selakovic said that Belgrade does not expect any significant reaction from Brussels because there had been no such reaction to date.
“We have seen no reaction so far. I would like to see one, every reasonable person would, I would like them to surprise us with a positive reaction, but the facts so far are to the contrary,” he said.
