Stefanovic, Kuburovic react to Skopje court decision on Morina (RTS)

Serbian Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic reacting to the Skopje court decision that conditions have not been met to extradite Tomor Morina to Serbia said that any political interference in the law always brings new injustice, RTS reports. Stefanovic added the court’s decision speaks that they have trampled on the essence of the international law and deeply hurt the memories on all innocent victims of suspected Morina. “There can be no justification that someone, suspected of war crimes against the civilian population, is set free instead to face the justice for the deaths of many innocent people,” Stefanovic said. According to Stefanovic it is impermissible that in such cases any state is guided by the politics. He underlined the arrest warrant for Morina would remain in force as war crimes do not get obsolete. Meanwhile, Serbian Justice Minister Nela Kuburovic said the court’s decision indicates that once again politics were above the law and the justice. “Unfortunately, by such decision of North Macedonia the politics were once again above the law and the justice. This is a major disgrace to the international law, but it is even harder blow and sadness for the families of victims who are for decades waiting for the justice for their beloved ones,” Kuburovic said. She noted despite all necessary evidence materials delivered to the bodies of North Macedonia, it was decided contrary to the truth and the facts.
