SNF: Arrest – impermissible pressure on Serbs (Tanjug)

Serbian National Forum (SNF) from Gracanica reacted to the latest arrest of Serb displaced person at Jarinje crossing point warning it is impermissible pressure on the Serbs, reflected in a permanent threat of arrests at the administrative crossing points, under the excuse that they have committed war crimes in 1999, Tanjug reported.

SNF added this way a system of fear for personal security among the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija is being established, in particular among the displaced persons, because Pristina wants to prevent their return.

Investigation against two Serbs for espionage launched (TV N1, RFE, KoSSev)

Basic Prosecution Office in Gnjilane has launched an investigation against two local Serbs suspected of espionage, Radio Free Europe reported on Friday. The two men, both school principals were arrested on July 10 at crossing point Bela Zemlja, after police found some documents in their car while they were travelling to the Serbian town of Vranje.

Serb reported usurped property in Vucitrn (KoSSev)

KoSSev portal, citing police report, said a Serb in Vucitrn reported to the Kosovo police that Albanian has usurped his property. The complaint presented documents of the Kosovo Cadastral Agency to prove the ownership over disputed property.

The police said they did not manage to find the suspect, and passed the call to him to come to the police station in Vucitrn, KoSSev added.

Two persons arrested over illegal transplantation and organ trade in Pristina (Radio kontakt plus)

Kosovo police said today it arrested two persons in Pristina under suspicion of committing a criminal act of illegal transplantation, organs and human cells trade, Radio kontakt plus reports.

The suspects are male of Turkish nationality, and a female citizen of Albania, the police report said. As per prosecutor’s order the arrested were released, and the case goes in regular procedure. The case was recorded yesterday around 15:40, Radio kontakt plus said.

Serbian Post Office robbed in Gorazdevac (KoSSev, Radio Gorazdevac)

The Serbian Post Office was robbed last night in the village of Gorazdevac, Pec municipality and smaller amount of money was stolen, Radio Gorazdevac reports.

The worker who came to open the post office this morning noticed the burglary. He reported the case to the police that came on the spot and started an investigation.

The intruders broke the main entry door, secured by metal bars. According to Radio Gorazdevac findings, the safe deposit box was taken away, however, it contained smaller amount of money.

More than 20 tombstones demolished at Serbian Orthodox cemetery in Lipljan (Serbian media)

Radio KIM reported that in the night between Friday and Saturday, unknown vandals have broken down, destroyed or demolished more than 20 tombstones at the Serbian Orthodox cemetery in Lipljan town.

Since the arrival of the international community in Kosovo and Metohija, this Orthodox cemetery became the target of vandalism in several occasions, Radio KIM recalled.

Construction of mini-hydro power plant in Strpce continued on Saturday (KoSSev)

Despite of months-long protests by the local residents “Metkos Group” company from Pristina is continuing with the construction of a mini-hydro power plant at place called Obereka in Strpce municipality, KoSSev portal reported on Saturday.

Even though local residents prevented the construction on Friday, the company accompanied by the special police units from Urosevac and local police officers resumed construction only one day after.

Drecun: Arrest part of well-coordinated campaign of Tirana and Pristina (RTS, Tanjug, Dnevnik)

Serbian National Assembly Committee for Kosovo and Metohija Chairman Milovan Drecun told RTS that the latest arrest of two Serbs in Kosovo, school principals, is part of a well-planned and coordinated campaign of Tirana and Pristina, adding such cases of illegal arrests would continue.

Drecun also said he is not surprised “since it is one of the ways, used for many years, to pressure the Serbs to leave Kosovo and Metohija and those who were expelled not to come back”.

Srpska Lista condemns arrest of two Serbs, school principals (Radio kontakt plus)

Srpska Lista (SL) in the strongest terms condemned the arrest of the two Serbs, school principals who dedicated their lives to raising and educating young people, adding they do not deserve the humiliating treatment they are exposed to, Radio kontakt plus reported.

Kosovo police said yesterday they arrested two Serbs over “espionage.”

Detention of arrested persons in northern Kosovo extended (Radio KIM, Radio kontakt plus)

Detention of arrested persons in the northern Kosovo at the end of May was extended for two more months, lawyer Milos Delevic told Radio kontakt plus.

Kosovo special police units arrested 30 persons on 28 and 29 May, among them 19 members of the Kosovo police.

Delevic told Radio kontakt plus that Basic Court in Pristina extended detention of arrested persons for two more months, adding the defense lawyers are yet to receive decisions, after which they would file complaints.
