The government of Kosovo has allocated €31,000 aimed at integration of the members of the “Civil Protection” into Kosovo institutions. Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri, said the move finalizes the integration of the structure operating in the north of Kosovo considered illegal by the government in Pristina.
The Vetevendosje Movement through a press release today said the integration of the so-called Civil Protection members into Kosovo Police, allows the Serbian List to take its share in Kosovo. According to Vetevendosje, Kosovo government is integrating the former members of the Civil Protection without verifying whether they committed crimes in Kosovo. “The dialogue in Brussels in not integrating Serbs in Kosovo, but is integrating Serbia and its structures in Kosovo state institutions.
The news site reports that the remaining 378 members of the so-called “Civil Protection” in northern Kosovo have signed today at the Administrative Office in Mitrovica North working contracts with Kosovo’s institutions. Administrative Office chief Adriana Hodzic confirmed the news. “The representatives of respective ministries here and we are helping out with the logistics, to see if any additional documents are required for these people. I can confirm that the agreement is being implemented but I do not have further details,” Hodzic said.
Unnamed sources told the news site that a brawl broke out in Mitrovica North today between members of the Kosovo Police and the so-called Civil Protection after police towed away a vehicle that was inappropriately parked. The source said: “the vehicle that was towed away by Kosovo Police belongs to Danilo Delibasic, an assistant to the chief of the Civil Protection, Stevo Pavicevic. After learning that police were towing away his car, Delibasic accompanied by several members of his organization went to the site and attacked a police officer, Ljubinko Jevtic.
The Kosovo government has decided today to dissolve the so-called Civil Protection that has operated as a parallel security structure in the northern municipalities. The government’s decision foresees: the integration in Kosovo’s institutions of 483 persons who were members of this structure, and taking over all facilities that were previously used by the Civil Protection.
