Government "will not allow Trepca to be taken" (Dailies)

The government "will not accept" a unilateral decision of Pristina to take over the ownership of the Mining, Metallurgical and Chemical Combine Trepca.

The reason is the fact the Republic of Serbia Development Fund owns a majority stake in the mines, Director of the Serbian Government's Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric said on Sunday.

The government warned over the weekend that such a move "will jeopardize the negotiating process between Belgrade and Pristina."

Killer of Kosovo Serb municipal assemblyman still at large (Tanug)

Dimitrije Janicijevic, 35, a member of the North Mitrovica municipal assembly, was murdered a year ago to this day, but his killer is still at large.

Janicijevic was killed by gunshots outside his family home in Kosovska Mitrovica.

The Kosovo police deputy regional director Besim Hoti told Tanjug that the investigation of the case is being conducted by Eulex, while the Kosovo police are merely cooperating with the mission and the prosecution office.

Eulex declined to comment on details of the investigation that is underway.

Vucic: Serbian gov't will always be there for its citizens (Dailies)

 The Serbian government will always be there for its citizens, Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said while opening a maternity ward, part of a new hospital in the village of Pasjane, southeastern Kosovo-Metohija (KiM), on Wednesday.

Addressing those gathered at the ceremony, Vucic said that Serbia had always had the courage to defend and preserve what belonged to it, but it had made the most progress in times of peace and while making decisions “cool headed.”

Prime minister, ministers travel to Kosovo (B92, Tanjug)

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and a number of members of his cabinet will be in Kosovo and Metohija on Wednesday
They will visit Pasjane, Strpce, and Gracanica. According to announcements, this will be "the first time since 1999 that a Serbian prime minister travels to Pasjane, Strpce, and Kosovsko Pomoravlje."

The officials will attend the opening of a maternity ward in Pasjane, and meet with members of the local community in Strpce.

Dacic receives farewell visit from Due (Tanjug)

Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic conferred with Head of the UN Office in Belgrade Peter Due in Belgrade on Tuesday, who commended Serbia's participation in the UN peacekeeping missions.

Due pointed to the fact that Serbia is among seven leading European contributors to the UN military and police forces worldwide, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released in a statement.

Dacic thanked Due, who came on a farewell visit, for the cooperation to date, and underlined the importance that Serbia attaches to the UN presence in Kosovo-Metohija.

Gasic: We appreciate Algeria's non-recognition of Kosovo (Tanjug)

BELGRADE - Serbian Defense Minister Bratislav Gasic received Algerian Ambassador Abdelkader Mesdoua in a farewell visit on Monday, and discussed further cooperation in the field of defense.

Gasic stressed that Serbia greatly appreciates the principled stance of Algeria not to recognize the independence of Kosovo unilaterally proclaimed by ethnic Albanians in this Serbian province, and expressed gratitude for the assistance and donation provided by this country after the devastating May floods.

Maric: ZSO formation among main topics of Brussels dialogue (Tanjug)

Ljubomir Maric, Kosovo's minister of administration and local self-government from the Serb people, said on Monday that the formation of a community of Serb municipalities (ZSO) will be among the main topics of the next meeting held as part of the Brussels dialogue.

In a statement to Tanjug, Maric said that the ZSO formation is also the main point of the coalition agreement, which the Citizens' Initiative Srpska signed with (ethnic) Albanian parties to form the government.
