The wife of the leader of Civic Initiative SDP, Oliver Ivanovic, said that Oliver Ivanovic is still in the hospital and that his health is improving. "He is slowly recovering. There are a few more check-ups that have to be done, but it will all be completed by September 10 and he will be absolutely ready for the trial," she said.
Igor Simic from the defence team of the SDP leader told KIM radio that starting the story about Oliver Ivanovic in Brussels, in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, was the best way to draw attention to the violation of his human rights.
“I do not expect anyone to influence the judiciary, but this is absolutely the best way to influence the violation of basic human rights of Mr Oliver Ivanovic or any Serb in Kosovo and Metohija.”
The Board of EULEX judges in Mitrovica North today extended the detention to the leader of Civic Initiative SDP Oliver Ivanovic till 27 October. Ivanovic was informed about the decision in a hospital, where he was due to deteriorating health condition caused by several days of hunger strike.
Director of the Health Centre in northern Mitrovica Dr. Milan Ivanovic said today that he will seek from EULEX that panel of doctors examine Oliver Ivanovic, who is on hunger strike in prison.
Milan Ivanovic told Tanjug that the health condition of Oliver Ivanovic, according to the information available, can worsen and complicate therefore he needs adequate health protection.
